INTERTHERM 751 CSA - COLD SPRAY ALUMINIUMThe use of Thermal Spray Aluminium (TSA) is synonymous with excellent heat resistance and corrosion protection in aggressive insulated and non-insulated steelwork, where thermal cycling can occur.
TSA generates intense heat during application and can be described as 'hot spray application'. Cold Spray Aluminium (CSA) is International Protective Coating's offer in combination with or in competition against TSA.
The application of thermally sprayed aluminium (TSA) onto suitably prepared steel substrates produces a porous film where voids are present. This porosity can eventually be filled by the aluminium corrosion products which will develop when exposed to corrosive conditions and reduce TSA lifetime. However, the application of a suitable sealer coating to fill the pores immediately after application of the TSA, goes someway to significantly extending the lifetime. Intertherm 751 CSA can be used successfully to seal TSA in areas where high heat resistance is required (5% thinning by volume may be required).
When applied as a sealer coat over Thermal Spray Aluminium (TSA) Intertherm 751 CSA provides the highest levels of corrosion protection performance up to 400°C (750°F).
